The political horizon has never been in greater need of new blood. After more than four decades under the same regime, a real democratic fatigue has set in, leading to a crisis of legitimacy, massive disaffection of the youth, and rampant impoverishment. Endemic corruption, excessive centralization, degraded public services: the current system is showing its limits. But 2026 marks the dawn of a renewal. The next legislative and municipal elections offer a unique opportunity to reshuffle the cards peacefully. The young majority of the population, long kept away from decisions, can finally take over through the ballot box. It is now or never for our generation to make a difference and leave its mark on the future of Cameroon.

This vision is not just a promise – we are already implementing it within the MLDC. In April 2025, during our ordinary congress, the party reinvented itself by passing the torch to a new generation of leaders. Prof. Jimmy Yab, a respected academic, was elected national president, ushering in a new era.

Under this rejuvenated leadership, youth is more than ever at the center of our strategy. We have launched local coordinations led by young executives and multiplied citizen forums. Our goal? To give you the means to understand the issues, to train you, and to take on responsibilities. The MLDC is not content to denounce the problems: it proposes solutions and prepares the next generation.

And this alternation, we want to build it with you. Whether you are a student, a young professional, a farmer, an artist, or an entrepreneur, your place is among us. The MLDC is committed to training, mentoring, and supporting you. Together, we will bring to life this plural, just, and prosperous Cameroon that we long for.
