2026: Transforming Local Elections into a Structural Refoundation of the Cameroonian State — Political Franchise and the Community-Based Developmental State in Cameroon’s Four Great Federated Regions
The 2026 municipal and legislative elections must inaugurate a new pact between the territory and the nation.
This is the essence of the POLITICAL FRANCHISE I am proposing. It is a simple yet revolutionary principle: each territory becomes responsible for its own performance. Every municipality becomes a productive unit. Every region becomes a strategic hub. Every elected official becomes a builder of measurable development.
Political legitimacy must no longer be limited to the ballot box; it must be anchored in results.
This vision is part of the construction of a COMMUNITY-BASED DEVELOPMENTAL STATE (CDS). A strategic, coordinating, and planning State. A State that organizes diversity rather than stifling it. A State that trusts its territories while guaranteeing national unity.
